March: Follow: Friendship

For our activity this month we celebrated the anniversary of the establishment of Relief Society.  We gathered as Relief Society sisters for dinner, games, and a spiritual message.  The purpose for the dinner and games was to help the sisters learn more about each other, spark new friendships, and of course enjoy yummy food!

"Being with a group of women in Relief Society is very powerful.  We help build strong communities.  For generations we have created networks to look after and raise children.  Relief society gives me and other women the opportunity to share knowledge, build the kingdom of God, and support each other." - March 2013, Ensign

The purpose of the spiritual message was to help the sisters understand that we all belong to the greatest organization for women in all the world, regardless of our many differences.

We began with a musical number by Rachel Ream and Stephanie Osmond.  The song is called Glorious and they sang it beautifully!

Following the musical number Kim Jensen shared her testimony with us of the power we have in the Relief Society. She said, "I love that no matter where we may move, the organization [of Relief Society] is there.  We have moved quite a few times and I know that as soon as I walk into that Relief Society room on my first Sunday that my future friends are there."  She closed by sharing the words to the hymn "Each Life that Touches ours for Good."

What greater gift dost thou bestow?
What greater goodness can we know?
Than Christ-like friends, whose gentle ways
Strengthen our faith, enrich our days.
